China’s Most Anticipated Amateur Golf Championship Tournament to Kick Off

Mission Hills has once again sounded the clarion call to the entire nation to join the 2nd edition of the MH 100-Team Championship, set to be held from April to October 2014. This large scale tournament is divided into 8 divisions geographically throughout the country, which covers Northeast China, Northwest China, Southwest China, East China, Central China, North China, South China and Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan. Several hundreds of golf teams from all over China will gather at Mission Hills Haikou to battle out this intense and exciting competition. The best 100 teams will qualify for the National Finals, fighting for the annual trophy of the China Amateur Golf Team.

A Fabulous Showdown among China’s 100 Best Amateur Teams from 8 Divisions

Following the first edition last year, Mission Hills National 100-Team Championship has received an enthusiastic response from numerous golf lovers since the early enrollment stage. After an intense battle that lasted three months in the last edition, the trophy of China's No.1 Amateur Golf Team was won by the “Team of Eagle” from the Beijing Huanyu Hengtong Audi.

Things are getting plenty heated up in this second edition of the Mission Hills National 100-Team Champion Tournament, which will be held from April to October 2014. Keeping in mind the catchphrase that "Happiness Comes First”, this event has provided a wonderful opportunity and platform for amateur golf teams to compete against each other, showcase and share their golf skills, as well as forming firm friendships with like-minded people from all over the country. The game also helps them to unwind both physically and mentally, delivering an enjoyable and delightful golfing experience.

The 2nd Mission Hills National 100-Team Championship comprises of division series and finals. The tournament will start with the series putting together 8 divisions from Northeast China, Northwest China, Southwest China, East China, Central China, North China, South China and Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan. Several hundreds of golf teams from all over China will gather at Mission Hills Haikou hoping to emerge victorious in this intense and exciting competition. The final 100 teams will qualify for the National Finals, fighting for the annual trophy of China Amateur Golf Team.

The 2nd MH National 100-Team Championship will follow the rules set in the first edition, using the "Rules of Golf" (2012 edition) jointly promulgated by the St Andrews Royal & Ancient Golf Club (R & A) and the United States Golf Association (USGA), as well as the  "Conditions of the Tournaments" and "Local Rules" developed by the Competition Committee.

The 2nd Mission Hills National 100-Team Championship is a 36-hole stroke play. The top 12 teams of each division will qualify for the finals. Apart from that, the top 4 teams of the unqualified teams from all divisions can also qualify for the finals. Both teams and individuals stand to win attractive awards.  In the finals, the individual awards include the Best Player Award, the Evergreen Award, the Youth Award, the Hole in One Award, as well as the 100 Best Performance Golfers born in 1970s.

Aspiring Amateur Golf Champions

Mission Hills Golf Club, which has won the honor of being the World’s Largest Golf Club in the Guinness Book of World Records after developing the Shenzhen and Dongguan clubs, has also established the world’s biggest public golf course on the bare black lava rocks at Mission Hills Haikou. The Division series of the 100-Team Championship is designated to be held on the No.5, No.7, No.9 and No.10 courses. These championship golf courses are specifically selected for their challenging topographies which add complexity and excitement to the game. The No.5 course features rough sand and bare rocks; the No.7 course is full of nostalgia, a nod to the West, while the No.10 Course perfectly merges with lush greenery. The finals are designated to be held on eight courses, including the No.2, No.3, No.5, No.6, No.7, No9, and No10 Course. The excellent facilities at Mission Hills Haikou have made it possible for 100 teams to play together.

With China’s rapid development of golf in recent years, plenty of amateur golf teams have cropped up and found favor by many golfers. Mission Hills’ 100-Team National Championship is a world class platform for enthusiastic golfers and their teams to improve their skills and befriending other likeminded people through the game of golf. According to sources at Mission Hills, the 2nd MH National 100-Team Championship enrollment is open for registration and many teams have already signed up. All golf teams are welcome to register for the game and join the challenge to make their mark in the China Amateur Golf Teams ranking list!
