The curtain fell on Mission Hills Golf Series Junior Tour—“The Match at Mission Hills” in Haikou on October 28th. The attention on “The Match at Mission Hills” has not dimmed, as Tiger Woods and Rory Mcllory the two golf legends presented awards to 4 young golf champions in the Mission Hills Golf Series Junior Tour·Haikou . Many of the young golfers still relish these memorable moments.

The moment when Tiger Woods presented the trophy will always linger in the mind of Yang Tieliang, the 13-year-old teenager from Chongqing. He won the championship of Boys Under16 Division and has now become the captain of the national youth team. When talking about the match, Yang Tieliang is still not satisfied about his performance. “It could have been better” said Yang. Yang started golf when he was 8, and since then his passion for golf never stopped. He achieved good results when he was in fifth grade and crowned the winner at the Junior Championship last year.

Wang Meixing, the 18-year-old girl from Guangxi, won the championship of Girls Uuder18 Division. Standing on the stage, Wang felt honored that Rory Mcllory presented the trophy to her. Wang also won the 2011 Mission Hills Nike Golf Junior Championship which held in Mission Hills Dongguan, and Tiger Woods had presented trophy to her at that time.

The Mission Hills Golf Series Junior Tour· Haikou was just one chapter of the Junior Series held by Mission Hills in recent years. There are six Junior Tournaments held in Mission Hills every year, namely the Mission Hills Golf Series Junior Tour, Jack Nicklaus Junior Championship, Faldo SeriesChina Championship , Faldo Series Asia Grand Final, ANNIKA Invitational at Mission Hills and the Academy Cup . All these first five tournaments s are endorsed by The R & A Golf World Amateur Grade Ranking System.

“I appreciate that Mission Hills is providing such a good platform to teenagers.” Yang Tieliang’s father acknowledged his praise and gratitude for Mission Hills’ efforts to support junior golf. Mission Hills also announced that it would open the No.4 Course, No.8 Course and Zhang Lianwei Course of Mission Hills · Shenzhen to teenagers under 16 years o age for free. This is undoubtedly an important undertaking by Mission Hills to support the development of junior golf and for the preparation of Olympic golf matches, which is highly approved by all sections of the society. “I had no idea that Mission Hills would open two golf courses to teenagers for free. This is amazing.” Mr. Yang said. “There are many families who want to send their children to play golf here, but the fees are so high that they have to give up the idea. It would be wonderful if golf courses are also opened to teenagers for free in Chongqing.” Mr. Yang continued.
