Mission Hills China regularly hosts some of the world’s biggest golf events and players on its courses. It is committed to bringing China to the world and the world to China via an annual series of tournaments aimed both at cultivating the stars of tomorrow, and showcasing the game at its present height.

The Mission Hills Golfathon is launched in 2004 to celebrate Mission Hills’ recognition as the world’s largest golf club. The Golfathon is an annual tradition at the resort. Thousands of avid golfers from around the world vie to record the best score for 180 holes across 10 of the club’s 12 different courses.

Since 2011, the Mission Hills Golfathon has extend the golfing fun from the 10 championship courses in Shenzhen and Dongguan to Mission Hills • Haikou and its 10 volcanic golf courses, allowing you to enjoy the extraordinary experience as playing on the moon. Footgolf as a set of sports, health, surprise against etiquette in one of the games, with its unique charm of the world footgolf fans sought after race, in order to make the Chinese footgolf fans to experience this new sport for fun, and to promote the development of footgolf in Asia and China, Mission Hills officially registered and established the China Footgolf Federation in March 2015, it has also become the first Footgolf Federation in China and Asia. Meanwhile Mission Hills will organize a serie of footgolf tournament for the society.

In celebration of Mission Hills’ new partnership with the University of St. Andrews, Mission Hills Golf Club is organizing the "Mission Hills-St Andrews" Home to Home Scholarship Fundraising Championship in this coming summer.All proceeds from the tournament will go towards the funding of one programme between Mission Hills Golf Club and St. Andrews University which will enable talented young Chinese golfers to study at Scotland’s first university and improve their game at the home of golf.

The first edition of the Mission Hills Reciprocal Championship, which will be played on Sept. 12 to 13, 2013 at Mission Hills Haikou Resort, China. This Championship is the first event in China to run under the R&A Amateur Ranking points system and open to all male amateur golfers with a handicap of 5 or less, enabling the players who perform well a short cut to the other world class tournaments.

The Asian Amateur Championship is regarded Asia’s most prestigious amateur title and an important passage way for up-and-coming golfers on the verge of breaking into their professional game. The event owes its reputation in large part to the fact that its winner is awarded an exemption to the US Masters and final qualifier of The Open Championship. Mission Hills is proud to be involved in the creation of this prestigious tournament and to the host of it’s inaugural and future events.
